This brief course is designed to support clinicians who may encounter and treat individuals with autism. You will learn from Dr. Gagan Joshi, Director of the Alan & Lorraine Bressler Clinical and Research Program for Autism Spectrum Disorder at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Joshi explores how autism presents in adulthood, why some individuals reach adulthood undiagnosed, and how to recognize subtle signs that deviate from classical presentations. The course also reviews clinical strategies to improve communication, outlines individualized treatment approaches, and discusses common comorbidities and psychopharmacological considerations. Special attention is given to the rise in autism diagnoses over the past two decades and challenges in inpatient settings.
To obtain credit for completing the course, please remember to watch and complete each of the three video lessons, as well as the feedback questionnaire that follows them. As always, you can check your transcript in the Education dashboard to confirm your learning record status.
